Transfer to the new scheme
When an insured person leaves Patrimonia for a reason other than disability, death or retirement, he/she is entitled to a vested termination benefit that is equivalent to the entire pension capital accrued by the insured person. If an insured member leaves due to a change of job, he/she must inform the Fondation Patrimonia of his/her new circumstances by completing a form. If the insured person does not have a new job, his/her leaving benefit is transferred to a vested benefits account at a financial institution of his/her choice (bank, insurance company).
In both cases, the Foundation is responsible for making the transfer to the new benefit scheme or to the vested benefits account at the earliest opportunity. In certain circumstances, in particular if the insured person moves to a country outside the European Union or if the insured person becomes self-employed, he/she may ask for his/her benefit to be paid as a lump sum. If the Foundation is not informed about the transfer of the leaving benefit within six months after the leaving date, the Foundation will automatically transfer the benefit to the Substitute Occupational Benefit.
Transfer to the Patrimonia Foundation
If the insured person has just been hired by an employer affiliated to Patrimonia, he/she must inform his/her former pension scheme to enable the latter to transfer his/her vested benefit to the Fondation Patrimonia. A form is provided for this purpose.
